Jazz Fusion Ensemble @ Berkeley’s Jazzschool Institute in Summer Semester

FUSION IS BACK! Violinist in Turtle Island Quartet and Stanley Clarke Band, Mads Tolling is bringing back the Jazz Fusion Ensemble for the Summer Semester at Berkeley’s Jazzschool Institute. It’s for vocalists and instrumentalists intermediate to advanced level – all ages are welcome. Materials covered include compositions by Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Jaco Pastorius & Jean-Luc Ponty. Participants will also learn how to compose and arrange for the ensemble, and those pieces will be worked on and performed throughout the semester.

Summer Semester is an intensive five week program with classes on Tuesdays & Thursdays 1.30-4.30pm starting July 3 and ending Aug 2, 2012.

    Any chance of doing a similar 5 day intensive summer institute anytime in the future? Five weeks is a lengthy commitment for musicians outside the area.
